Google+ Maker Camp teaches teens to build robots and more
Maker Camp, a free virtual summer camp for teens, is dedicating today’s lesson to building robots. The session will be hosted by robot creator and blogger RobotGrrl and kid webshow host Super Awesome Sylvia at 2 p.m. eastern at the MAKE+ Google Hangout.
Maker Camp offers free daily do-it-yourself tutorials and virtual field trips for kids via Google+ from July 8 through Aug. 16. According to organizers, during last year’s inaugural Maker Camp, more than one million participants followed MAKE on Google+.
Many of the projects presented during the series should be of interest to young roboticists. In the coming days, topics include LED holograms, learning to make a light-up hoodie, a field trip to NASA and a lesson on touchless 3-D tracking interfaces.
