Robotic arc welding company expands reach with acquisition

Lincoln Electric Holdings, an Ohio-based company that specializes in arc welding products, reported today that it has entered into an agreement to acquire Robolution GmbH, a robotic arc welding systems provider located near Frankfurt, Germany.

Robolution currently serves a number of automotive manufacturers and Tier 1 suppliers. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“Robolution expands the geographic reach of our growing automation business,” Christopher L. Mapes, Lincoln Electric’s CEO, said in a statement. “With our recent acquisitions of Wayne Trail and Tennessee Rand, and our new greenfield facility in Brazil, Robolution will enable us to seamlessly support customers across three continents.”

According to Lincoln Electric, the transaction is expected to close by the end of the month.
